The legendary “Finnish swans” are back at sea on Elba
Also this year the Circolo della Vela Marciana Marina will host (for the sixth time since 2009) the prestigious event S&S Swan Rendez-vous, which in 2023 will celebrate its 10th edition. An important anniversary for the event reserved for the legendary “Finnish swans” designed by the famous American design studio Sparkman & Stephens.
An important fleet – to date there are 43 boats that have already expressed their intention to take part in the meeting – will give life to a series of regattas in the waters of the main island of the Tuscan archipelago scheduled from 28 June to 2 July next . The shipowners who will be present with their beloved boats – remember that they are part of the homonymous association with members from all over the world – will represent Australia, Finland, France, Germany, England, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland.
In addition to the competitive program at sea, there are also many moments of meeting on land for owners and crews who meet every two years with great participation on the occasion of the S&S Rendez-vous, we will talk about Fastnet 1979, where the S&S Swans were indomitable and unharmed protagonists and Ocean Globe Race 2023 with some of the participants, owners of S&S Swan, who will be present at the Rendez-vous.
In June the prestigious S&S Swan Rendez-vous sailing event in Marciana Marina
“The sailing club Marciana Marina will host the tenth edition of the S&S Swan said Enzo Danielli, president of the Elba sailing association, on the last weekend of next June Rendez Vous. We are honored by the choice that the class coordinator Matteo Salamon has reserved for us. Furthermore, this year the event is enriched also thanks to a new solidarity link aimed at charity: in fact, on this occasion the CVMM will donate a part of the registration fee paid by the participants to the Abbracciamoli Onlus Association which works in the field of the fight against childhood leukemia with economic support to pediatric hematology departments.”

The 10th S&S Swan Rendez-vous will be dedicated to Lars Strom, who passed away recently, the greatest friend the S&S Swan owners have ever had and for over 30 years head of the design office of the Finnish shipyard Nautor and takes place with the organization of the Circolo della Vela Marciana Marina in collaboration with the S&S Swan Association and with the patronage of the Municipality of Marciana Marina: It will turn thanks to the support of Zurich, Rigoni di Asiago, a company that has been producing organic jams, honey and spreadable creams for a century in respect of the planet and the well-being of its consumers, Carboway, Kohlhoff Deck Equipment, Moby, Nautica Pontemagra, Ronstan/Andersen and Toremar.
