Marciana the highest town on the island
Marciana Alta with its 375 m of altitude is the highest town on the island and one of the oldest villages , as evidenced by the Pisan Fortress which dominates the country, where the population went to take refuge during pirate attacks. The streets are very narrow and bristling, all accessible only on foot. From the town starts the pedestrian street that leads to the sanctuary of the Madonna del Monte. Marciana is also the starting point of the cableway to M. Capanne, where on clear days it is possible to admire the Elba and the surrounding islands in their splendor.






















The Marciana Park House
The Casa del Parco di Marciana is located near the Pisan Fortress, in the highest part of the town of Marciana. The surface is divided into two main rooms dedicated to the terrestrial and marine environments of the National Park. At the entrance to the information desk, information brochures are distributed, the visitor can make use of the collaboration of the staff for a more in-depth visit.
