Directions how to get to the Island of Elba

Getting to Elba by car, the nearest port is Piombino, where two companies operate:
The frequency of connections varies in different periods of the year.
In the low season the line is served by 15 trips a day.
From May to September there is a service every half hour.
The duration of the crossing is about 50 minutes, the port of arrival is Portoferraio.
The Toremar also reaches Rio Marina (45 minutes) and Porto Azzurro (90 minutes).
Reservations are recommended during peak periods.
In addition to the ferries, passengers have access to a fast connection with the hydrofoil of the Toremar company.
In 15 minutes you can reach the port of Cavo; in 30 minutes you will arrive at Portoferraio .
FROM NORTH:
Genoa-Livorno motorway, Rosignano exit.
Continue on the Livorno – Grosseto highway to Venturina.
From here, in a few minutes, we are in Piombino, where the ferry to the Island of Elba leaves .
FROM NORTH-EAST:
Motorway Bologna – Florence – Pisa – Livorno, exit at Rosignano.
Continue on the Livorno – Grosseto highway as far as Venturina, which is 15 km from the port of Piombino.
FROM SOUTH:
Highway Rome – Grosseto, continue on the Aurelia until the Venturina – Elba Island exit.
