In Elba by historical tradition (we are on an island), rowing competitions are held every year between the various clubs, a challenge that has distant roots.
The various Elba sports associations put their boats into the sea with their respective crews.
The Rowing on the Island of Elba is identified with the gozzi a rowing (marine boats), the crew consists of four rowers and a helmsman. The race course, one nautical mile long, is divided into three buoy turns (four pools).
