For the seventh consecutive year Enjoy Elba and the Tuscan Archipelago greets and thanks its collaborators, supporters, readers and friends on the occasion of a meeting to be held at Enfola , at the headquarters of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, at 5pm on Tuesday 30 July. Speakers will include the President of the PNAT, Gianpiero Sammuri; the mayor of Portoferraio, Tiziano Nocentini; the President of GAT, Niccolò Censi; Walter Tripicchio, vice-president of the Elban Hoteliers Association; Gianfranco Vanagolli, Honorary President of Italia Nostra Arcipelago Toscano; the entrepreneur and winemaker Antonio Arrighi; the CEO of the Blu Navy Shipping Company, Luca Morace; the magazine’s director, Patrizia Lupi.

“The presentation of the magazine in Elba after the one in the Regional Council in Florence – he anticipates the latter – is an opportunity to comparison between the various stakeholders on the sustainable development of Elba and the Archipelago, from different points of view: social, cultural, environmental, economic. On our pages we welcome contributions from experts, writers and journalists, people involved in the third sector, researchers, citizens, photographers who document the islands of Tuscany and their communities from various points of view. Beautiful and fragile islands, complex but rich in resources, fascinating and always different, inclusive but with the difficulties of isolation, always populated by people from every corner of the Mediterranean or the continent. A magical treasure chest where stories unfold seamlessly, revealing places, characters, knowledge, traditions, projects, ideas, emotions. The magazine was created to enhance what attracts thousands of tourists every year, but above all to tell the story of the island’s soul, the genius loci, the stories and people who risk being forgotten, the lesser-known places starting from the internal villages, where nature coexists in harmony with the human presence, the welcoming opportunities that the Archipelago offers throughout all the months of the year.”
The underlying theme of the 2024 edition is the theme of tradition, in particular peasant culture. The cover which represents the Aleatico harvest is based on this. The articles invite the reader to seek out and taste local products, to discover the producers and those who transform them, to taste the typical dishes. For a tourist proposal based on the quality of the view, well-being, genuineness and authenticity. A parallel theme is that of social sustainability, intergenerational dialogue, volunteering and the value of the active participation of citizens, who are the first ambassadors of their territory, to make Elba hospitable even for those living in disadvantaged situations. As usual, some articles are dedicated to the environment and environmental education, while in the lifestyle column we talk about the multifaceted cultural, sporting, artistic and recreational activities that animate the islands.

The challenge of the Island of Elba and the other Pearls of the Tyrrhenian Sea – concludes Patrizia Lupi – is to generate a short hospitality chain that allows for the integration of sea and land, landscape and identity, culture and leisure, entertainment and nature, flavors and experiences, memory and looking towards the future, qualified employment and quality of service, network culture and cooperation, innovation and digitalisation, economic development and social inclusion, accessibility and usability. And Enjoy Elba and the Tuscan Archipelago wants to be, if not the protagonist, then a spokesperson for this challenge».
At the end of the event, a toast will be offered with the wines of the Acquabona company of Portoferraio and the products of the Assapora artisan laboratory of Rio.
