Sailing Club Marciana Marina will host the sailors Marco Rossato and Igor Macera of Timonieri Sbandati ASD
From 20th to 30th June the Circolo della Vela Marciana Marina will host the sailors Marco Rossato and Igor Macera of Timonieri Sbandati ASD, the association that promotes the accessibility of the sports for everyone, especially sailing.
Marco and Igor will be available every day, at times to be agreed, for the sea trips of the Una Veleggiata 4All program aboard Tornavento, a fully accessible sailing boat with an electric motor. An experience designed for everyone, and in particular for groups and schools, people with disabilities, elderly people who have difficulty living their passion for the sea. During the outings Marco Rossato and Igor Macera will talk about their life and sporting experiences: their sailing tour of Italy in a wheelchair, their commitment to sport accessible to all, navigation and the environment. But there will also be space to discuss the importance of coherence and determination in achieving one’s goals: difficulties exist for everyone, but we must not allow them to block our aspirations.
Marco Rossato Italy sailing solo
Marco Rossato was the first paraplegic sailor (but he prefers to define himself as a navigator) to circumnavigate Italy sailing solo in 2018 (a feat later repeated with Igor Macera in 2023), he was President of the Hansa 303 paralympic sailing class from 2018 to 2020 and of which he is now an advisor, he is a Sailor of Italy and a meritorious member of the Naval League. He participated in the Vele Storiche di Viareggio regattas and the legendary Barcolana Classic. He is also a nautical consultant for vessel accessibility
How to get on board Tornavento
To board Tornavento, simply register on site, even before boarding; the sailing is free, a small fee of 8 euros is required for insurance.
