The Italian 12′ Dinghy Championship on Elba

The Marciana Marina Sailing Club will host the 89th Italian 12′ Dinghy Class Championship

Everything is ready at the Circolo della Vela Marciana Marina in view of the most important sporting event of the 2024 sailing season, the 89th Italian Dinghy 12′ class Championship.

Starting from 4 September and until Saturday 7 September 2024, a fleet of over seventy participants – we remind you that the 12′ Dinghy is driven by the helmsman alone – will be at sea on the regatta field of the Elban town to give life to the event that brings the tricolor title is up for grabs.

The opening day, Wednesday 4 September, will be dedicated to completing registrations and measurement checks: in the late afternoon the CVMM will offer competitors a welcome aperitif in the outdoor spaces in front of the headquarters.

On Thursday 5th, starting from 1.30 pm, and then on the following two days, the competition will get to the heart of the competition with the start of the sea trials: the program envisages the holding of a maximum of seven trials, with a minimum of four valid regattas for the purposes of the final ranking.

On the starting line there will certainly be the reigning Italian champions, both Ligurian, Vittorio d’Albertas winner of the overall title in 2023 and the champion of the Classic Dinghy (wooden boat) category Fabio Mangione.

There will not even be a moment of socializing missing with the dinner on Friday 6 September, organized in Piazza Bonanno, on the seafront of Marciana Marina.


The event takes place under the patronage of the Municipality of Marciana Marina and the collaboration of the local Pro Loco Marciana Marina. Supporting the event are Acqua dell’Elba, Aithàle/Terme di San Giovanni (the latter will offer some prizes up for grabs), Fonte Napoleone which will provide over 1500 bottles of mineral water, Moby which has always supported the CVMM regarding transport to ‘island.
