Portoferraio, 6 September 2022. It will be possible to register, meet with the project partners, ask for information on the free creative workshops in which young People from Elba are called to participate on the themes of art, music and theater, on the occasion of the Open Day of “Amici Fragili” which will take place on Wednesday 14 September at 4 pm at the Youth Center of Portoferraio, Calata Mazzini 37.
The “Fragile Friends” project aims to encourage new forms of aggregation, developing relationships of friendship and help between children of all backgrounds and physical or social conditions, involving them in practical activities, proposed by themselves, which enhance ideas, attitudes and talents. It was born from the collaboration of twelve Elban subjects operating in the third sector, which, with the Elba Island Foundation leader, participated, winning it, in the call “Siete Presente. With young people to start again” promoted by Cesvot and funded by the Tuscany-GiovaniSì Region in agreement with the Department for Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service, with the contribution of the Livorno Foundation.
The workshops will take place weekly, from 14 September to 17 December. Every Wednesday of the fourteen weeks of duration of the workshops, it will be dedicated to music and dance, from 17.30 to 19.30 at the Centro Blu Argento in Via Manganaro in Portoferraio. Thursday will be dedicated, from 3 pm to 5 pm to theatrical activities, at the Youth Center in Calata Mazzini 37 in Portoferraio and on Saturdays, from 3 pm to 5 pm, to art forms: sculpture, painting, photography, at the headquarters of the Pro Loco and the Circolo degli Artisti alla Gran Guardia in Piazza Cavour in Portoferraio.
The young people will be followed by the tutors, educators and volunteers of the Partner Associations who, for the first time, carry out together a project that affects the entire Elban community, and which, they hope, can continue in the future in support of the most fragile sections of the population. In addition to the Foundation Elba IslandPortoferraio participate Auser odv, Associazione Dialogo, Banca dell’Elba, Italia Nostra Arcipelago Toscano, Pro Loco Campo nell’Elba, Pro Loco Portoferraio, Altamarea social cooperative onlus, Arca social cooperative, WeOut Association, Incontriamoci in diversi aps, Circolo degli Artisti Portoferraio. The project will also involve the high schools of the territory with which a comparison is underway to study the most appropriate methods of collaboration.
“A first result – explains the referent of the project Patrizia Lupi, director of the Elba Island Foundation – has already been achieved: to bring together those who in various capacities are engaged in social and culture, giving value to the work and experience of each one, joining forces for a project shared by the entire Elban community. On the island there are many resources, professionalism, ideas that, in a solidarity race, can improve the quality of life of those who live in disadvantaged situations but also of those who can recognize themselves and find stimulus in a more cohesive and supportive society, through relationships of friendship and collaboration.”
