Poggio Chestnut Festival
Festival in Poggio of the Chestnut on Sunday 30 October, the now famous chestnut pucinca, the most famous of all the Island of Elba, will take place.
In addition to the appointments with taste, excursions and walks among the chestnut groves and some cultural and educational initiatives will be proposed.
It is the event that closes the Chestnut Week . Autumn celebrations and events that the two mountain villages of Poggio and Marciana offer to the whole island of Elba.
Festival program of the Chestnut of Poggio
The Chestnut di Poggio will start at 10.00; guests can visit the village following a gastronomic itinerary linked to old traditions and taste foods based on chestnuts, from first courses to second courses, from desserts to chestnut bread and other delicacies.
CASETTA DRUOUT
On the occasion of the Castagnata it will be possible to visit the Casetta Drouot . From 11.00 until evening (by candlelight) the Emperor will tell about his life in Elba with the Governor Drouot and the Countess Walesca.
SHUTTLE SERVICE
Throughout the day a free shuttle service will be available to the village of Poggio.
Trekking a San Cerbone

The hermitage of San Cerbone is located on the slopes of Monte Capanne, at a height of 530 m asl, overlooking the villages of Marciana and Poggio, submerged by centuries-old chestnut trees .
The events will be organized by Municipality of Marciana in collaboration with Pro Loco Marciana-Elba, Pedalta association, Il Rifugio association, Circolo Amici di Poggio, National Association of Chestnut Town , World Biodiversity Association and other local associations.
