Free meeting for the Change of Course project of the Isola d’Elba Foundation at the Orto dei Semplici, in collaboration with Elba Officinale
Free meeting for the Elba Island Foundation’s Cambio di Rotta project at the Orto dei Semplici, in collaboration with Elba Officinale.
The “on land” events organized by the Cambio di Rotta project, in collaboration with partners and supporters, are back. They are open free of charge to all Elba ETS (Educational Services for the Environment) members, residents, and tourists. On Sunday, October 12th, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, in collaboration with Elba Officinale ETS, the gates of the Orto dei Semplici will open. Francesco Marino and Martina Brusaferro will be expert guides to explore the wonderful botanical world at the Eremo di Santa Caterina in Rio. The young people of the Exodus La Mammoletta Foundation and those from other partner associations will also be participating, but anyone interested in learning more about the island’s extraordinary biodiversity is welcome to attend. On this occasion, it will be possible to participate in a workshop where the seagrass found on the island’s beaches will be used to make paper. Good environmental practices, reuse and recycling, knowledge of the local area, and learning artisanal techniques will be explored through an unusual perspective, the underlying theme of the entire project: observing reality from multiple perspectives, with an expert guide or simply using a new method of observation, to identify potential improvements or changes for a “change of direction” precisely when needed.
