The Isola d’Elba Foundation reopens its counseling center for ETS (Emergency Travelers)

The Isola d’Elba Foundation resumes its in-person and online meetings: a space open to associations and citizens to share ideas, needs, and projects. The service is aimed at associations, public and non-profit organizations, and citizens who wish to share common paths to promote initiatives and proposals, especially in the cultural and social sectors, for the benefit of the Elba community.

Projects of the Elba Island Foundation

Onlus Elba Island

The projects of the Elba Island Foundation, with the involvement of some island entities, enlivened the summer with numerous interventions, dedicated in particular to young people and inclusion, starting with participation in the Nastro Rosa Tour event dedicated to nautical culture and the Blue Economy.

This theme is also reflected in the “Change of Course” project, promoted in collaboration with the Exodus Don Mazzi “La Mammoletta” Foundation and a broad regional network that also includes schools, which uses sailing as an educational experience. This project was highlighted in July in the “Stories” section of CESVOT. These experiences were complemented by the “Sea, Sport, and Inclusion” event in Marciana Marina, promoted by the Circolo della Vela with Handarpermare and open to discussion among organizations committed to supporting people with disabilities. The Elba Baskin Dolphins’ activities and summer camp, part of the “Baskin Elba. Educational Sports Program” project, of which the Foundation is a partner, also focused on the theme of sport: four days of training, sharing, and experiences of independence.

Cultural Sector, Regenerative Tourism, Elba Memory Archive

In the cultural sector, the Foundation’s commitment has focused on the theme of regenerative tourism as part of the Chestnut Week in Marciana with the “Rural Renaissance” conference. The collection of historic images of Elba and its inhabitants for the Elba Memory Archive—the project that won the Ministry of Culture’s call for proposals for the digitization of cultural enterprises—continues thanks to “memory donors” who share their memories with the community by making photographic collections and documents available. These images from the Giuseppe Pietri Archive have enriched the exhibition and the calendar of events dedicated to the great Elban composer, curated by the Le Macinelle and La Torre Associations, the municipalities of Portoferraio and Campo, and the Pietri family.

Project and operational activities. The goal is to strengthen the Elban association network, foster mutual understanding, and build shared paths, including through participation in calls for proposals and the creation of partnerships.
