Meet the “Friends Forever” kids in the squares of Elba.
During the holidays, the regular rendezvous in the squares of Elba is with the kids from “Amici per sempre” who, for several years now, have brought joy and smiles to every event where cohesion, participation and fun enliven the community of Elba Island.
The last two events in February were for Valentine’s Day, when the kids took part in ice skating together with the youth of the Exodus La Mammoletta Foundation in Portoferraio, and for Carnival, celebrated in Porto Azzurro, with confetti and parades. Colorful costumes and lots of hearts to share emotions and surprises, thanks to the constant commitment of the many volunteers who dedicate themselves to social work on Elba.
Friends forever
First of all the fantastic Antonella Colli and Franco Ascione who since 2022 have been following the young people involved in the Amici Fragili project of the Fondazione Isola d’Elba created thanks to a call for proposals by CESVOT – Volunteer Services Center of Tuscany and the Tuscany Region GiovaniSì.
Since then, the Pro Loco of Portoferraio, with the generous commitment of Manuela Cavallin, the Circolo degli Artisti led by Alessandro Grosso and many other volunteers, have organised creative workshops attended by young people who have become “Friends Forever”.
Sincere thanks go to the Municipality of Portoferraio, to Councilor Rita Bacci and Mayor Tiziano Nocentini, to the Municipality of Porto Azzurro, to Mayor Maurizio Papi and Councilor Gisella Guelfi, to the Pro Loco of Porto Azzurro with President Diego Verdura and to all those who worked to make the events a success. Finally, sincere thanks to the families of Lorenzo, Simone, Martina, Elias, Igor, Vincenzo, Stefano, Alessandro, Aron, Daria and Christian and to the children of La Mammoletta for their warm commitment which allows us to share a project for a fair and inclusive future for all.
