- the island of Pianosa, with its extraordinary nature and excellent museums: the Casa dell’Agronomo, the branch of the maximum security prison “Agrippa”, the Museum of Geological and Archaeological Sciences
- Giglio Island with its spectacular granite and crystalline inlets
- the island of Capraia, a wonderful protagonist with its volcanic cliffs;
- the island of Giannutri, with the Roman Villa of the Domizi-Enobarbi and the recent opening to visitors of the spectacular Cryptoporticus Mosaic
- Montecristo, the treasure island, a precious treasure trove of biodiversity
- Gorgona, the prison island, which can be visited with spectacular excursions between sky and sea.
The National Park’s offerings are largely focused on spring and autumn, aiming to make the most of the shoulder seasons: walks such as the Grande Traversata Elbana and the new Via dell’Essenza, coastal treks, from nature excursions for the whole family to challenging routes for experts. There are also excursions with local tastings in collaboration with local producers, geological and mineralogical excursions with the Calamita Mines, the Rio Mining Park, and the MUM – Luigi Celleri Mineralogical Museum, accompanied by experts in various disciplines. There is no shortage of marine activities in the Pelagos Sanctuary: whale watching, sea watching, sea kayaking, and snorkeling, with the presence of biologists and expert park guides.
Also noteworthy is the offer aimed at the little ones: educational workshops with Park Guides by the sea and in the Environmental Education Centers (CEA).
We also offer some holistic activity options, including Yoga & Trekking sessions and Mindful Eating experiences.
The paper version will be translated into four languages and distributed in the coming weeks at the Park Info Parks and Visitor Centers. To assist hikers, the official trail maps are also available on the free Avenza Maps app. A widespread network of 17 facilities (Info Points, Environmental Education Centers, Park Houses, and Museums listed in the catalog with contact details and opening hours) is present throughout the Park to welcome and guide visitors.
It is also possible to visit the English Fort in Portoferraio with the exhibition dedicated to the naturalist explorers of the late nineteenth century and with the extraordinary Naturalistic Laboratory “NAT-LAB”, managed in collaboration with the (WBA) World Biodiversity Association.
