Elbable sails like a “palindrome” around the island of Elba
The Elba offshore sailing race, organized exclusively by the Marciana Marina Sailing Club in collaboration with the Elba Sailing Clubs Committee, returns in the fall, a month from October 3-5, 2025. As always, the route includes a circumnavigation of the island of Elba (approximately 40 nautical miles), starting from Marciana Marina. Each owner will decide whether to sail clockwise or counterclockwise, starting to the right or left, and then finishing back in the Elba town. A buoy will be positioned halfway, where the partial times will be recorded. These times will be used to compile the rankings in the event of a shortening of the route.

The event is open to all boats and multihulls, both cabin cruisers and open boats, with no age restrictions and certificates. Measurements are available starting from 4 meters overall. The fleet will be divided into three groups with three distinct classifications: boats up to 10 meters, boats between 10.01 and 15 meters in length, and boats over 15.01 meters to 20 meters. A prize will be awarded to the overall winner, regardless of size, who achieves the best performance (handicap system) among all participating boats (excluding multihulls); to the winner in real time among all participating boats “RIGHT TURN”; to the 1st classified in real time among all the participating boats “LEFT LAP”
The first 3 classified in real time of the LOA classes will be awarded: Class 1: LOA up to 10 meters – Class
2: LOA from 10.01 to 15 meters – Class 3: LOA 15.01 to 20 meters.

Friday, October 3, 6:00 PM: Office opens. 6:30 PM: Participants’ briefing with delivery of the race instructions. During the briefing, the owners will announce their decision on the next race course, which will remain secret until the identification numbers of each competing boat are handed over. Welcome aperitif.
Saturday 4 October 8.00am: Departure from Elbable
8.00pm: Dinner at the Marciana Marina Sailing Club
Sunday, October 5, 10:00 a.m.: Awards ceremony at the Marciana Marina Sailing Club
