“Elba and the Tuscan islands – says the magazine’s director Patrizia Lupi – are a treasure chest of knowledge and beauty. They deserve to be known not only for the sea: there is a human, environmental and cultural universe to discover. On our pages we want to enhance the identity of local communities, starting from good practices and know-how. There is a heritage that represents the true soul of the quality tourist offer, in every season: telling it means sharing it with the guests of the Island so that together with the inhabitants they take care of it and respect it. An exclusively summer tourist influx modifies the urban and natural ecosystem of the places, transforms the social, economic and cultural fabric, risks damaging the environment and the landscape. It ends up debasing the identity characteristics of the islands, to suffocate their genuineness and uniqueness through a process of standardization that contrasts with our most intimate and authentic proposals in every month of the year”
Federico Massimo Ceschin, president of simtur – association of sustainable mobility and tourism professionals – who is the publisher of the magazine, echoes this sentiment: “We must redesign the trajectories of tourism starting from community experiences, combining the well-being of visitors with that of those who live and experience these places full of charm, which are the true wealth of Tuscany and Italy. Enjoy Elba and the Tuscan Archipelago is the ambassador of this new way of experiencing tourism, telling stories, people, places, professions, good practices and good food, according to the innovative paradigm of the “visitor economy”, which takes care of the expectations of those who travel and – together – the needs of hospitable communities, united by the love for that “minor” Italy infinitely rich in beauty, knowledge, traditions, emotions”
