The volume of the Elba Island Foundation is out
The volume “We put roots at Elba” was published, curated by Patrizia Lupi for the Isola d’Elba Foundation, as part of the project “Citizens of the Elbana peasant culture”, approved with DDR13511/23 with the contribution of the Ministry of Labor and social policies and Tuscany Region, which saw the Isola d’Elba Foundation as the leader, accompanied by the Auser ODV partners, meet in various ODVs, a dialogue association, and who has collected more than sixty supporters around him between schools, Third sector entities, Pro Loco, experts, farms and voluntary associations.
Narration of the peasant roots of Elba
Multiple objectives of the project started in September 2023 and concluded on 31 December, which intended to start from the narration of the peasant roots of Elba, to enhance the great identity heritage of the island based on the material and immaterial values of the community, on traditions, on Agro -food products of the territory, through a narrative that has seen many people engaged: from the pupils of elementary, middle and high schools with their families to the teachers, to tutors, to experts, to the numerous members of the participating ETS. The guests of the island were also involved thanks to some public presentations of the project during the summer and some excursions, the last of which was organized in November by the Cai Elba and by the Calello association, in the beautiful Pomonte valley. It is estimated that at least 1200 people have participated in the various activities.
A lot of satisfaction for the following obtained
“ We are very happy with the results of the project – said Patrizia Lupi – that have gone beyond our expectations. We continued to have adhesions and collected supporters until the last bars. This makes us think that the project will continue to collect consensus also in the coming years: the Foundation will not miss its support, as happened for the first project phase that was financed by the Region and by the Foundation itself. We wanted to propose a theme that is still in the ropes of the Elban population – continues Patrizia Lupi . In fact, there are many initiatives that continue to flourish on the theme of peasant culture, carried out by other associations. The task of the Isola d’Elba Foundation is to launch ideas and propose alliances, helping Ets Elban to participate in calls, as in this case, then passing the witness to all those who, recognizing the validity of our objectives, expand the planning and audience of the interested parties “The project can be consulted on:

The volume will be distributed free of charge to those who have collaborated and will be presented soon together with the documentary that tells the actions that have been put “in the field” in the 15 months of course, created by the boys of the Exodus Foundation “La Mammletta”.
