Trekking on Monte Capanne – The summit of Elba

Geo-Experience: Visit to the Mum and Cave of today

On the occasion of the World Geodiversity Day. Visit to the Mineralogical Museum Luigi Celleri and his beautiful collection of Pegmatiti. A short excursion will follow to one of the most important mineralogical sites in the area, a cave of today, an archae-mineralogical path to discover the men and places that made the minerals of San Piero famous in the world. Week of planet Earth. Trekking that starting from Nisportino reaches the Mangani beach. A demanding itinerary that touches the Punta delle Casette promontory, the stretch of coast of the red stones from which you can admire the Rada of Portoferraio. With the help of the expert Giulio Colombo we will listen to the geological history narrated by Diaspri and Radiolariti. After a stop at the Caletta dei Mangani we return to the same path.

Castagna Feast in Poggio

From Marciana to Poggio long ancient streets. Trekking to discover the Apennine vegetation along the slopes of the Elba mountain, Monte Capanne. The extensive chestnuts have been exploited, in the past, for the fruit and for the timber, an interesting example of sustainable economy that we will deal with during the walk.

Somgeria of Elba: once upon a time there was an island

Sensory approach to the donkey in its enclosure, testing of the donkey in the middle of the oliveta, visit of the small museum “Once upon a time there was an island”. Excursion immersed in the Mediterranean scrub until you reach a magnificent forest of holm oaks, along a fresh path.
