Elba Island Foundation and Linc Coop Soc launch the “Symphony of Talents” project

On Saturday 11 January 2025 at 2.00 pm, at the Sala Gran Guardia in Portoferraio, the series of meetings for “Symphonies of young talents” will begin, a project led by the Isola d’Elba Foundation, approved by commissioner’s decision on 21 August 2024, with prot. AIG/237 n° 237/2024, by the Italian Youth Agency as part of the Public Notice “NEETwork: creative connections. Promote processes of activation and inclusion of young generations”, approved by commissioner resolution on 23 May 2024, with protocol. AIG/ 142-2024.


Festival of young artists from Elba

The aim is to organize a Festival focused on the interests and artistic abilities of young citizens of Elba. Partner of the project is the LINC Cooperativa Sociale, active in Marina di Campo and Livorno, which will follow the workshops and organizational phases.

The initiative, which was made possible thanks to funding from the Italian Youth Agency, is aimed at young Ebonians to create a group of participants aged 16 to 25 who will be provided with the tools and resources to set up the music festival which will be held in May 2025 in Portoferraio.

The participants, in addition to representing different realities on the island, are united in belonging to the age group that most needs, and has the right, to have a self-managed sharing space and at the same time supported by consultants, tutors, professionals in the fields creatives identified by the project: musical/theatrical performance, videomaking/photography, communication and art.

To get more details on the initiative and how to participate, the children can go to the “Gran Guardia” room in Portoferraio on Saturday 11 January at 2.00 pm, kindly provided by the Pro Loco Portoferraio, thanks to the interest of Manuela Cavallin, where a buffet made available by the Conad Superstore will be offered free of charge. Entry is free for students and workers who need to reach other municipalities on the island after school or working hours. An important aspect, that of transport, which finds adequate solutions in the project: for the entire duration of the project, bus tickets will be provided free of charge to participants in the meetings.

Invited to participate were, among others, the boys and girls of the Mammoletta – Exodus Foundation, the members of the Incontriamoci in Diversi Association, the girls and boys who attend the Youth Center and the students of the Secondary School “ITCG Cerboni” grade. They will be guided by professor Marco Bruciati, who will manage a theater course. The invitation post is available on LINC’s Instagram page at the address “cooperativalinc”.


Objective of the Festival: young people

The purpose of the first meeting is to show the group of young people the objectives of the Festival: discover talents and give space to everyone’s abilities by providing the right tools and resources; create an event that can be repeated over the years; involve a large number of young people, including the most fragile or disadvantaged. Those present will be able to discuss among themselves with the tutors, representatives of the project, the strategies to be adopted and the work programs, participating with ideas and proposals, from the beginning, in the creation of the contents and the implementation methods. For each area of ​​interest, a tutor will coordinate and accompany the interventions.

Elba Island Foundation and LINC Soc Coop are two very active entities in the social sphere among the Elban ETS. They all share the objective of making a concrete contribution to the Elban community, offering opportunities and resources, making use of the support of institutions and businesses to create the conditions for active and aware citizenship. In this scenario, the Festival aims to be a springboard for future initiatives, a test bed that will help understand the needs of the Elban population and provide concrete answers to improve the welfare of the Island ofElba.
