Eighth edition of the Elba Island Marathon over distances of 42-21 and 10 km.
The ASD Elba Runners, in collaboration with: the Municipality of Campo nell’Elba and Municipality of Marciana organizes the Eighth edition of the Elba Island Marathon on distances of 42-21 and 10 km.
Place and date: Marina di Campo (Island of Elba) Sunday 05 May 2024
Meeting: 7.30am Piazza del Comune in Marina di Campo
Departure: 8.45am Marina di Campo Lungomare Mibelli (at the coop)
Arrival: Marina Di Campo – Piazza del Comune
Maximum time: 6h Marathon – 3h 15′ Half Marathon – 1h 45′ 10 km
Meeting point: 7.30 am (Marina di Campo) town hall square or you can be found directly at the starting area located in Marina di Campo on Lungomare Mibelli (near the coop).
Requirements to participate in the Elba Island Marathon
All athletes who have reached 18 years of age on the date of the event can participate, all those who are members (Italian or foreign) with: – FIDAL, holders of – RUNCARD or – SPORTS PROMOTION ENTITIES upon presentation of a copy of the valid membership for the 2024 season and the certificate of suitability for competitive activity valid as of 05/05/2024.
If the registration takes place before the renewal of the membership, the athlete must in any case send a copy of the 2024 renewal as soon as possible or declaration in lieu of membership, on the company’s letterhead signed by the President.
CERTIFICATES WITH ONLY THE WORDING OF “ATHLETICS” WILL BE VALID ACCEPTED.
Registrations of athletes who do not comply with the “Participation Requirements” and without the receipt of payment are not permitted.
By registering, athletes ensure that they are adequately prepared for the various races. The Italian athlete who has a medical-competitive certificate but no card will be able to take advantage of the UISP annual membership by paying 15 euros (the membership is valid for all competitive races until 08/31/2024).
The athlete must indicate this option by requesting it from the organizing company, sending a copy of the competitive medical certificate (valid) and making the payment together with the registration fee, specifying it in the reason for payment. The foreign athlete must bring with him a copy of the medical certification in force in his country and/or local federation card. Although the organization prepares the necessary rescue services, the athlete who experiences moments of difficulty or loss is invited to stop and at the aid stations along the route, to be assisted by rescue vehicles and personnel and therefore not to continue his race.
How to register for the Elba Island Marathon

FOREIGN ATHLETES NOT RESIDENT IN ITALY
Athletes not resident in Italy who have reached the age of 18 on 5 May 2024 can participate, in the manner specified below.
Athletes registered with Foreign Athletics Federations, affiliated to the WA, will be able to participate with the following requirements:
- presentation of a valid medical certificate of sporting fitness, the original of which must be shown to the organizers and a copy kept in the records of the company organizing each event. The medical certificate for non-resident foreigners can be issued in your own country.
- requesting our form to fill in, which will be valid as your release regarding the medical certification.
SHOWER/BATH SERVICE
The bathrooms are located near the departure and arrival area with chemical toilets made available by the organization, at the public bathrooms in the port area (beyond the Locman, about 100 meters away), or in Piazza dei Granatieri di Sardegna about 150 meters away .
Shower service to be confirmed. At the end of the competition, a free shower service will be made available, reserved exclusively for athletes, approximately 200 meters from the finish line, always in the port area (room temperature only) and at the il Capriccio bathing establishment (room temperature only), otherwise at your accommodation facility.
BAGS WITH PERSONAL CLOTHING
A free maintenance service will be set up for the bags containing the athletes’ personal clothing located near the start/finish area of the competitions in Marina di Campo.
The only bags that the athletes will be able to use to store their clothing will be those with the appropriate bib number provided by the organization. The bags must be marked with the appropriate sticker, present in the technical bag containing the bib. They will then be deposited in a special area nearby, to be recovered after the race in the square of the Municipality of Marina di Campo (near the finish line). The organization, while guaranteeing the utmost care in collecting and returning the bags, is not responsible for any loss for which no type of refund is provided.
Awards of the Elba Island Marathon
The first 3 men and the first 3 women of the Elba Island Marathon will be rewarded with Locman watches, Garmin watches, Acqua dell’Elba perfumes and technical material; as well as the top 3 men and women in each category, with scents of Acqua dell’Elba, technical material and typical local products.
Prizes of any nature not collected at the time of the award ceremony, by the person awarded the prize or by his delegate, cannot in any way be collected subsequent to the time of the award ceremony itself.

* For the 10 km, the top 5 overall finishers (men and women) will be rewarded
The awards will be given at the end of the events, at 12.30 for the 10 km, at 1.00 for the half marathon and at 1.30 for the marathon in the arrival area, Piazza del Comune (Marina di Campo). For faster companions and runners (who will have to wait longer for the awards ceremony), a stage with music will be set up from 1.00 pm, and, again from 1.00 pm, the opening of the pasta party (free for athletes and companions).

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
An adequate health service will be set up and managed by the organization in collaboration with local bodies and assistance services. First aid stations will be available located at km 14 (Seccheto) and km 19 (Bivio Pomonte) and at the finish line, as well as ambulances following the race.
PARTICIPATION MEDAL
All competitors who regularly cross the finish line will receive a participation medal.
PHOTOSHOOT
The photographs will be available for online purchase (in paper or digital format) 48 hours after the end of the event on the website www.fotostudio3.com.
FREE “MASSAGE FOR POST-RACE PHYSICAL RECOVERY” SERVICE
The Sportler association brings together physiotherapists, masseurs and osteopaths qualified for post-race recovery, who will be present at the event. The service is offered to those interested at the end of their run and involves manual massage/mobilisation techniques, associated with the stimulation of peri-articular reflex-gene areas, for physical recovery and management of typical pain in athletes, also in certain syndromes of overuse.
The therapist’s knowledge of the fine mechanisms within the musculoskeletal functionality will allow the operators to also provide some advice/orientation, so that the athlete can integrate the notions into his training.
Diploma of participation in the Elba Island Marathon
All those classified will be able to print their participation diploma in the appropriate section of the site, starting a few days later.
COMPLAINTS
Complaints must be sent to the organization by May 20, 2024, accompanied by the fee of €50.00 which will be refunded if accepted.
WITHDRAWN ATHLETES
The race will be followed by vehicles responsible for the assistance service and the transport of those who have withdrawn. 2 stations (km. 12 – km. 20) will act as a meeting point for those who have withdrawn, who, compatibly with the progress of the race, will then be taken to the arrival area, where they can collect their clothing bag.
DELIVERY OF BIBS AND RACE PACKAGE
The bibs will be distributed in Marina di Campo at the Piazza del Comune, where a special area will be set up for the occasion, on the following days:
- Saturday 4 May 2024 from 10.00am to 12.00pm and from 2.30pm to 6.30pm
- Sunday 5 May 2024 from 7:00 to 8:00
The race pack contains the official race shirt, event medal (at the end), participation diploma (at the end) for everyone.
For Marathon and Half Marathon there will be the addition of other sporting items.
VERY IMPORTANT: PLEASE GIVE YOUR CHIP JUST AFTER ARRIVAL TO THE STAFF YOU WILL FIND BEYOND THE FINISH FINISH. THOSE WHO DO NOT RETURN THEIR CHIP WILL BE FINED 20 EUROS.

Running the Marathon, the Half Marathon or the 10km on the Island of Elba is also a way to experience and discover the Island. Very interesting tourist packages from Italy and abroad can be consulted in the Tourist Info section of the site.
IMAGE RIGHTS
By registering for the 8th Elba Island Marathon, the athlete expressly authorizes the organization, together with sponsors and media, to use still or moving images on which he may appear during participation in the 8th Marathon of the Island of Elba or events related to it, on any type of medium, including advertising and/or promotional materials, without territorial limits and for an indefinite period.
DECLARATION OF RESPONSIBILITY
By registering for the Elba Island Marathon, the athlete declares to accept the provisions of the regulations published on the website www.maratonadellisoladelba.it. This regulation will be valid for all races on 05 May 2024 or “8th ELBA ISLAND MARATHON, HALF MARATHON OF ELBA ISLAND, 10 KM OF ELBA ISLAND” and to be aware that participating in the event in question could be dangerous for my health. The athlete acknowledges that he should not register and participate if he is not medically fit and especially if he is not athletically prepared. By accepting the registration request, you assume all risks associated with your participation in this event, including all possible injuries related to travel to or from the event. I completely exempt the organizers of the event, the sponsors, the various voluntary groups and any other public or private entity that plays an organizational role in the event itself from any responsibility and I am aware that any fact or complaint caused by negligence on the part of the various parties cannot be traced back to the organization. Finally, the competitor declares under his personal responsibility, not only that he has declared the truth (art.2 law 01/04/1968 n.15 as amended by art.3 paragraph 10 law 05/15/1997 n.127), but to exempt the organization (the ASDElba Runners) from any liability, both civil and criminal, for possible damage to people and/or things caused by it or derived from it.
By accepting the regulations, the athlete declares to voluntarily register for the 8th Elba Island Marathon and to assume all risks that may arise from his participation. Athletes participating in the marathon are required to respect the rules of the Highway Code.
