Grappa from Elba, (Elban wines)
The Elban grappas are all produced exclusively with pomace originating from the island of Elba and almost all distilled locally.

The pomace is all that remains of the grapes after the various procedures for the production of the wine . In the pomace we find the skins and seeds of grape berries, plus a very small quantity of partially fermented liquid
Grappa is the brandy obtained from the distillation of pomace fresh fermented. Single-variety grappas are those obtained by distilling the marc of a single type of grape, or more generically grappas with fancy names when the grape variety that originated the marc and consequently the grappa is not declared.
