9-10-11 SEPTEMBER: FIRST EDITION OF THE ELBA SUP FESTIVAL
Elba Sup Festival , Marciana Marina will host the first edition of a sporting event that will be repeated every year to Marciana Marina that dedicated to a trendy sport, SUP , acronym of Stand Up Paddle , now practiced all over the world, which also sees many fans on the Island of Elba. It is a discipline that is becoming increasingly popular not only by professionals but by sportsmen of all ages, much loved even by the youngest, reconciling well-being, fun, respect for the environment and discovery of the territory . It is a question of using boards, such as surfboards, but rowing standing up with the paddles to move and keep balance. A sport that can be practiced in any season.
On the days Friday 9, Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September Marciana Marina will welcome numerous sportsmen, curious people, tourists , for a fun event where young and old will participate in free courses for beginners, upon registration for insurance purposes at the ads Surf & amp; Sup School which organizes the event together with the agency Imagine Project , and a fun Fun Race , a non-competitive race with prizes offered by Acqua dell’Elba and the company LoveSup strong>. The goal of the organizers is to bring the public of all ages closer to the use of the sea through a slow mode, which allows you to discover the varied Elban coast from the water, with its beaches, coves, inlets, even during the medium seasons. The days will also be an opportunity for walks to make the territory known, to organize convivial moments with shows , projections , opportunities to meet and exchange experiences . On the evening of 9 September , at 9.30 pm there will be a Trekking to discover the town accompanied by Umberto Mazzantini from Legambiente . Tastings of typical products thanks to the sponsorship of the Nocentini Group and special rates for participants thanks to the collaboration of the shipping company Moby Line and local hoteliers . The path of the tests and the race, which will be organized with the participation and collaboration of the Circolo della Vela di Marciana Marina , includes the departure from the venue of the event, at the Sandy beach of Capitanino on Viale Regina Margherita , in the center of the marine coast, arriving at the beach of the Souls , after having skirted the suggestive cotton village strong >.
The event is part of the Summer Marinese calendar organized by the Pro Loco and has the patronage, as well as the Municipality of Marciana Marina , of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park and VisitElba .
